Ryan works in numerous mediums, to see in his early works the mechanical mark-making of spatial relationships visually and conceptually that activate the essential transitional qualities that make up his sketches to his figurative, representational portraits to his complex transcendental abstracts
The exact message that Ryan conveys is not easily interpreted and best left to the viewer to ask the question of what it would feel like to be inside the drawing.
